battery-acid-tasting bits of pain or sweetness I so need to vent; because I then
hear music in my head and get to writing.

'The Sycophant': Poem by Corey Logan
You put it on me, to give you more than myself
Than pretend to Remind me~
that your so worried about my health
As you watch me shrivel up and disappear~
As I starve, for sleep, in fear
It's a sure way, to tear me apart.
Having everyone's best interests-
- but mine- in my heart
It was real from the start.
Though the expiration date was lost,
Then sealed in plastic,Cuz we're cutting costs.
No microwave or pots and pans
The needle of a clocks free hand
It Says its over-
Now that it's midnight ...
Soon that makes morning
With that first sign of light
Because,
Fear surmounts the endless march
To something bright
but lost in dark ignoring
We have candlelight
Now my balance is perfect...
... with no clear lines, Of where I lay my head tonight.
I got friends,
With dollar signs in their eyes
and no help for the anchor, I am for more than just-one-life,
Till the needle
Turns minutes into a sleight of hand
With Mock desperation
The brain with no beating heart
No hands..
...to steady The frame we find,
A reminder that pictures, can be filled with a thousand lies.
With a liar or friend
So Clearly sycophant,
We bury the truth
In a conversation
If you knew all along
I couldn't do it alone
Than why another step
Towards the edge,
Selling everything That I own
Now I'm Buried in
Digging out the dead line
I expected a phone call
A ring and I'm fine
if the conversations a fire
I'd light it beneath me
and keep it inspired
I could take it easy.
If you Promise me you'll start to believe
A chance- To trust
A bet- you'll sign
Never wanted a contract
Just the faith you had me in mind
If ever I had the answer, that we were fighting for...
By midnight I thought I lost you
My deadline was moments before
Cus you had it easy
Just sit back and watch
While we pushed,
my-self,
into ever which way-
here that was lost
No one here to clear my way
Only confidence if I led, id lead you astray
You put it on me, to give you more than myself
Than pretend to Remind me that your so worried about my health
As you watch me shrivel up and disappear~
As I starve, for sleep, in fear
It's a sure way, to tear me apart.

And this character concept
Isn't just a game, it was always the same, it was real from the start
